thatsharedthespace:thePetitBasset
GriffonVendéens,theGrandBasset
GriffonVendéensandtheBasset
Hounds.Volunteershadnodown
time;therewasaconstantflowof
peoplestoppingatourboothtoplay
withthedogsandlearnaboutthe
breed.Turntopage18formoreabout
thisfunevent.
MovingontoOctober,ourclub
officersandboardofdirectorsmetin
Tucson,Ariz.,attheDoubleTree
Hotel,thesiteofour2015NationalSpecialty.Ourmid-year
boardmeetingagendaincludedatourofthehotel’sfacilities.
Wewerepleasedtoseealargenumberofgroundfloorrooms,
eachleadingouttoaprivatepatioandacommongrassyarea,
makingitverydogfriendly.Therearetworestaurantsanda
niceareaoffthelobbytocongregate,makingitfriendlyforthe
humanstoo.Weputinalongandproductivedayofwork,
coveringalengthyagenda;mostnoteworthywastheroundof
applausefromallinattendancewhenwefavorablyvotedto
namePamHelmerasourpermanentNationalShowChairman.
And,inordertokeeptheflavoreachregionbringstoour
events,anindividualfromtheregionwillbenamedasassistant
chairman.Ourannualnationalshowandeventshavebeen
growingovertheyears,makingthechairman’sjoballthat
moredifficultforthatoneindividualtolearnalltheins
andoutsofthejob,onlytothenbereplacedyearafteryear.
Hence,theneedtohavea
permanentchair.Thankyou
