Letter From the

Foundation President

“The mission of the PBGV Health and Rescue Foundation is to promote the wel-

fare of the breed by providing funding for research, education and rescue activi-

ties.”

We are nearing the end of the year 2016!   Can this be true!?!  This past year

The Foundation sponsored several AKC/CHF grants. We will report on the

progress of the individual grants as the information becomes available. The

information about the individual grants was reported in a previous issue of

Saber Tails.

For the past several years, the Foundation has been able to fund programs

such as educational programs, Health Clinics, and DNA blood draw at the

national specialties.  For the past two years, we have participated with PB-

GVCA to provide Animal Oxygen Mask equipment to local Fire Departments

in the city where the Specialty is being held.  We hope to be able to continue

this tradition for years to come.

The Foundation has always been well supported by PBGV owners through

donations.  We also actively seek out other means to provide funding for

various projects.  Recently we ran a tee-shirt campaign thru Booster.com.

The artwork for the shirt was created by Charlotte Allman, a longtime mem-

ber of the Club and organized by Kate Rowinski. Thank you to Char and Kate

for making this possible.

We recently had a car donation made through the Donation Line.  (See In-

formation in this issue.)  It’s a great way of moving along a vehicle that is

taking up a spot in your yard, running or not.  This is a perfect time of year

to move that vehicle along. The Foundation receives a donation and you

receive a tax write-off for your donation.

One of the primary responsibilities that the Foundation is always aware of is

the need to always have funds available for Rescue.  The Rescue Committee

of PBGVCA does all the hard work of rescue and the Foundation pays the

bills. Rescue has its own fund, specifically designated for Rescue and thus far

we have been able to meet the financial demands as needed.

As this year comes to an end, we hope that all of you and your PBGVs stay

well and have a wonderful holiday season and a great New Year!

PBGVs everywhere thank you for taking such good care of them!
