PBGVCA Redesign

Welcome to the newly redesign PBGVCA website.  You will find a navigation bar at the top of each page and a site map providing a hierarchal representation of the site organization that that will quickly take you through the site. There is a Google search box at the top of each page that coupled with the site map will help you find exactly what you are looking for and to better your understand the site organization. If after using all of these methods for touring our site, you still cannot locate your information, please email webmaster@pbgv.org, who is your volunteer club member maintaining the site and I will get back as soon as possible.

The site is broken down into eight categories:

• Club Info:  General club information such as officers and committees along with the Saber Tail, our club publication.
• Health: Provides information relating to the health of PBGVs and various research projects and health articles.
• Breed Info: This area covers information pertaining to the breed that include history, standards, companion events, field & trial, and more,
• Member Info: You will find membership application, member web pages under Featured Members, and more,
• Events: Takes you to our new events/member management website,
• Boutique: PBGVCA items for sale
• Gallery: Enjoy lots of pictures of PBGVs along with our Hall of Fame and Photo Contest winners, and
• FAQ: Answers to frequently asked questions, external links to other information sites, and a site map, which is a hierarchical list of the entire site.

What you will need to get the most out of the site?
The age of your web browser will determine if you can get the most out of this site.  You will need Internet Explorer 6, Netscape 7, and Mozilla 2 or higher within Windows and for Macintosh systems use Apple's Safari rather than Internet Explorer.  For AOL users, while you can connect using your AOL software, you may want to use one of the newer browsers by minimizing your AOL Window and opening a current browser. The latest version of free web browsers is available at the following link:

Tools: A number of documents use the Adobe Acrobat format, which is basically a picture.  You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.  To get your free reader, go to: Adobe

The print is too small…what can I do?
The size of text and images you see on your computer screen is controlled by your computer.  There is a magic word called “resolution” that affects the size of what you see and is controlled by your computer/video card/monitor.  It can be as low as 800 by 600 pixels on up to 1920 by 1200; the higher the number, the smaller the size. Laptops typically use the highest setting making everything very small. Now that we have computer screens that are “widescreen” at 16:9 rather than the more square screens at 4:3 ratios, what you see has become more complicated.  Websites today are designed to the 1024 by 768 resolutions.

Bottom line, you control size locally.  If you are running a Windows computer, do the following:

Place your mouse cursor on a blank area of your desktop and RIGHT-click mouse

A menu will appear…slide your cursor down the menu to:

• For Windows XP chose “Properties” and on the Display Properties window select the “Settings” tab.  Look for “Screen Resolution” where you will see a slide from less to more.  WRITE DOWN YOUR CURRENT SETTINGS listed directly under this slide.  Move the slide down to less and click OK.  Everything on your screen will become larger.  If you do not like what you see, just go back and adjust size.
• For the new Vista operating system chose “Personalize” followed by “Display Settings”.  On the Display Settings window look for “Resolution” where you will see a slide from Low to High.  WRITE DOWN YOUR CURRENT SETTINGS listed directly under this slide.  Move the slide down to Low and click OK.  Everything on your screen will become larger. If you do not like what you see, just go back and adjust size.
